2019: Still a bit confused at which buns are vegan as some are labelled เจ (vegan in Thai), but then I think some buns that haven’t been labelled still are? I guess ask. Definitely go for the filled buns rather than the mantou which are super boring in comparison! Best flavour is charcoal almond for sure, yuuum. 2017: Was keen for some sweet pandan filled buns but alas they only had 4 kinds of jay buns which were savoury and TBH were all quite similar in taste and texture (albeit yum), but I would 've been satisfied with 2. All were some variation of a fried shiitake mixture plus either a tiny bit of: taro, veggies, baby bamboo, or more mushroom. I thought the bao bread was nice and soft, perhaps a tad too thin. Good snack if you 're on the go. NOTE I also looked for this place high and low at Maya Mall, I couldn 't find it? (Definitely not on level 4 at least)
Very yummi soft buns with different sweet or savoury fillings. The stuff is very friendly. If you want, they 'll steam the buns for you in a few minutes. There is one table to sit down, but you can also get the buns in a take away bag. The vegan buns have the circled jay sign on the left side. (Take a look at my pictures.
I loved the mushroom/bamboo and fried taro ones. Unfortunately they did not have many savoury vegan buns left. The sweet ones aren’t as delicious because they have no filling.
The buns are very filling, however they can be somewhat dry if they don't have a filling.
