Their cuisine is based on the purest Italian gastronomy, with dishes of pasta, pizza, and meats. In our case, we opted for a pizza and of course tried the specialty that everyone was talking about, which was the risotto with Prociutto di Parma with Parma ham and black caramelized figs in a light thyme and cantaloupe melon foam, absolutely delicious!!! I have heard that the chef in charge of the kitchen is Peter Zimmermann now, I don't know what happened to Gustavo Maurelli who cooked for us during our dinner. It is also a real pleasure to see the live kitchen as it is completely open to all the spectators who were dining that night. I was impressed by the impressive wine cellar at the end of the dining room with over 1000 different bottles. Personally, I recommend it to all of you who stay at this wonderful hotel or who are simply in Chiang Mai and fancy a fantastic dinner based on Italian cuisine. I recommend booking in advance as it is usually full during its 6-hour opening hours from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
To be honest, it was a disappointment to have dinner at Favola, the Italian restaurant located at Le Meridien Chiang Mai. The menu is focused on authentic Italian cuisine, offering pasta dishes, pizzas, and meats. We opted for a pizza and also tried the highly recommended risotto al prociutto di par horas.
