I'm often here, I really love the experience of having tea with my friends and eating all the delicious foods while I have teas I haven't heard, but I'm ready to try. I admit that there is a tad price if you don't use a groupon, but since we always use the groupon to enjoy our tea when I really can't complain. The last time we were there, the flowers wept on our table, but my beast took flowers from another table so that we could have fresh flowers on our table. The staff is always pleasant and the food always tastes fresh. We'll be back.
Thank God I didn't read the previous review because we had our shower and it was absolutely fabulous. A tea should be an intimate affair and of course the tables were not all joined together. We loved our guests to know the ones they don't know. And we had no children with us and a tea room and a shower is really not a place for children. We also had two guests who were not RSVP, who was really not fair for the staff as they had already prepared for our number (which is why you call in a last count), but in all fairness the tea room was horny with additional food altho not what all others got. We all found friendly, accomodating, and helpful and the food was great! I guess if you have picky guests, you'll get a stressy host. But for my money my voice goes to Simpson House if you want a nice place, great food and accomodating staff.
Keep a baby shower in this facility. The Simpson house over others because of the plant, and they seemed more to the needs of the diet. However, the staff was not very friendly. I was part of many bridal and baby showers and the feeling that the staff should pick up. As I felt, we annoyed the staff. They only set room settings for the number of guests (not on each table) and seemed disturbed when the guests did not want to sit with others they did not know and they had to put more cutlery. It seems that 3 children were present. And an individual showed that not RSVP and they were not very accommodating in relation to an additional plate. They did everything like a problem, and added stress to the host.
The Simpson House Tea Room is located in a restored farmhouse dating back to the 1890s in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. The decor is bright and airy without being excessively sentimental. It remembered what I would imagine as an English holiday home. We enjoyed a traditional full afternoon tea, or low tea consisting of a mixture of savory and sweet fingers sandwiches, scenes and sweet confectionery.
