The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly charming, evoking a lovely French evening vibe. The dishes were beautifully presented, and the fusion menu offered a delightful variety of flavors. Overall, the food was delicious, but the standout was definitely the pomme frites, which were perfectly seasoned and absolutely exceptional.
Now, let’s talk about the most important aspect: the food and drinks! Chef Everett Reid has crafted a sensory delight that hits all the right notes—from the appetizers to the dessert. Each dish was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The wine selections complemented the meal seamlessly, enhancing the overall experience. All in all, this is what makes for a flawless five-star dining experience. Even if you’re not in the vicinity of Chester, CT, make it a point to visit this fantastic restaurant!
HFC offers a truly delightful experience! The location is stunning, and the food and drinks are top-notch. If possible, I highly recommend sitting at the bar with Bob! The deviled eggs, HFC chicken paired with creole French macaroni and cheese, and the bourbon smash were all fantastic. Just a heads up—the hot sauce is quite spicy!
Hot French Chix offers a delightful ambiance with its cozy, candlelit atmosphere and charming antique decor. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted and received attentive service throughout the evening. My husband and I began our dining experience with fresh bread accompanied by a homemade Boursin spread. The bread was delicious, but the cheese had an unexpectedly sweet flavor. I opted for the shrimp etouffee while he chose the General Tso's chicken. He found the chicken to be overly spicy, prompting him to order the duck poutine afterwards. The General Tso's dish included a surprising amount of Thai chiles, which felt out of place. The etouffee tasted more like jambalaya, as its sauce resembled a broth rather than a rich gravy. However, we both agreed that the duck poutine was the standout entree. The duck was tender and the cheesy fries were indulgently satisfying. Although our other dishes didn’t quite meet our expectations, I would consider giving Hot French Chix another try. Their menu looks very appealing, and I have a fondness for French and Creole cuisine. Plus, you can’t beat the lovely setting in picturesque Chester.
