The food was awesome. It was great to have so many healthy options. The restaurant has a pretty laid back small town vibe. Will definitely return!
Based on their super slow service I really wanted to give them an average rating. But their food was so good, I just couldn't do it. I was there twice, once we ate at the restaurant, and the food was great, the service was not bad. But when we came back to order take-out for a fishing trip, the service was horribly slow and they messed up our order. So my advice is if you want to eat there, because the food is good, only go when you have the time to sit and eat.Hopefully they are working on training their staff to be more efficient with their time, their inexperience and stress was very sad to watch.
We stayed in Chester a walk away from The Kiwi Cafe and made it our unofficial home base. Breakfast every morning there and lunch the day we arrived. Each time we had something different and each time it was great. Breakfast sandwich, eggs breakfast, Lox and cream cheese, pancakes, for breakfast and the lobster sandwich for lunch were all awesome. Atmosphere is great, we have a 7 month old and all the staff we're so friendly with her. It's a must visit if you're staying or passing through Chester.
During a week in Chester we had several coffees and treats and a super breakfast. After our first visit staff recognized us and all were very friendly. My wife and I had several lattes over the week and when we asked for a lemon square to share they cut it in two from corner to corner and put it on two plates with a little decoration. A nice touch. We had breakfast on our last day and the eggs benedict were good and the carrot cake pancakes with a maple cream topping were great. We did not have lunch there but many people were enjoying food each time we were there for coffee.
