Walking into the bar did feel a bit like a ‘drinkers pub’, however we were greeted cheerfully and shown through to the dining room, very busy and a bit noisy (lots of happy customer conversation). Menu was straight forward, we had beef roasts and a chicken in bacon. Food arrived well cooked, all lovely and hot, all at the same time and exactly what we ordered, with a large insulated jug of gravy! Simple stuff, but important and not everywhere gets these basics right. Had puddings which were equally good sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie very sweet and tasty. Food was overall very good, service was fine, at the end of the day it is a dining room at the back of a pub (no windows) so surroundings not special fancy, still a very pleasant, honest pub Sunday lunch. About £75 for 2 courses, 3 people, including a drink each.
We ordered the cheese burger and roasted duck breast, both were very delicious! The staf was very friendly and the pub was clean. We recommend going there for a nice meal.

Had a lunch with friends after rambling from Adderbury. Great customer service. Lovely food and great beer, although would be good to have more local ales.
Great atmosphere and good food and attentive service. Highly recommend for a welcoming traditional pub, dogs welcome too!
