When we arrived we were promptly brought to the back of the restaurant which was great however I quickly noticed there were not enough seats. Luckily we had some people who had to cancel so we squeezed everyone in however if they didn’t we would’ve been in a difficult situation as all the other tables were being used. So I would air on the side of caution when dining in large groups. The staff was overall not as friendly as I had hoped. They seemed irritated with us asking for a sushi menu, requesting a drink other than water, etc. The hibachi chefs did not talk to us. The chef who worked on one of the tables didn’t talk at all, didn’t throw any food to anyone, make any small talk, etc. The second chef said happy birthday but didn’t talk and threw a few pieces of shrimp at the end. We tried to initiate small talk and keep positive energy but it wasn’t reciprocated. Lastly, when the check arrived I asked if we could do separate checks for each couple. The waitress got extremely irritated and said “you didn’t say that when you came. You made a reservation for so many people.” I told her “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I needed to tell her ahead of time. how can we resolve this?” She got mad and left. A different staff member came over and said he can put as many cards onto the check as we need. So we calculated our totals ourselves and paid. Also, before getting the check it felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant when we were still trying to eat and talk. Overall it was a very disappointing experience. The food was good however I would’ve hoped after spending nearly $700 we would’ve been treated with more hospitality.
We tried to give them a third chance, but unfortunately, we will never be coming back. The customer service is horrible, and the hostess is extremely rude. Very unprofessional. When we shared our issues, the manager tried to act like he didn't understand English. They also close whenever they want, so you better call ahead. It's unfortunate!
They sent me my food with shrimp in it when I indicated that I have a shellfish allergy. they took no responsibility. Be careful here if you have a food allergy. They also put everything in one container so I couldn’t eat anything.
Megu has great take out. The rolls are really big and always fresh. I’ve never had to wait more than 30 minutes. The rolls are always delicious. This is my favorite sushi place.
It was a Saturday peak hour dinner time but we were able to make a last minute reservation. When we got there there was a line for those who didn't make reservation but it was moving fairly quickly. The place had an efficient service. The food is prototypical hibachi style, pretty much what's expected of usual hibachi, with the usual good serving size. The place is clean, no complaints. Also plenty of parking even on peak hours.
