Nice place to try traditional South Indian dishes and coffee. We generally go to this place whenever we visit Mylapore Kapaleeswarar temple. Its on the chariot street. They do sell podi, pickle and papad items as well. Definitely a good place for vegetarians.
Walked in to have a light refreshment. Prefered this place for one reason not many throng here because of the decreased service taste and increased price. Had an Adai aviyal. Tasted an item called aviyal which was just like thick morkozhambu with scarce availability of vegetables in it. I could count the number of pieces! An over sized vazhaipoo vadai was delicious. Co was good. My Ratings Taste 3.8, Service 4.5, Ambience 3.5, Pricing 3, Parking facility 2.5 Overall 3.8 only
Just Wow! I had a craving to taste authentic brahmins' style cooking and This place in Mylapore opposite to Lord Kapaleeshwarar Temple fulfilled my wish. I found this place randomly by a random temple priest's suggestion and I didn't regret visiting it. *An old hotel established decades ago. (1950). You shouldn't expect the modern ergonomic or the ambience. Such places are supposed to be embraced as they are and This is one such place. We dined in their AC room. *We tasted: Rava Pongal, Idlis, Ghee dosas (roast); The 3 different chuttneys, Avial, Sambar were phenomenal. *Finally, The Mylapore's Signature Filter coffee. I'm a true coffee lover and I still couldn't come out of their coffee spell. MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE : A perfect Vegetarian treat. The place is a bit small so it won't cater huge crowds. A bit over priced than the regular hotels but worth trying it. Special mention to the art work on their walls*
Went here for Breakfast, this is one of the old mess in chennai. The place is so divine with wall full of Hindu Gods. The taste was good, idlys were little bigger than regular idly. If you are visiting Mylapore then you can try this place Cons: 1. You need be here with little patience coz we waited for 3 to 5 min for the serving ppl to take our order. 2. I feel the place is over priced. 1 Methu vadai cost 60rs and 2 idly cost around 60rs. which i felt costlier 3. They didnt serve sambar and it was Gosthu during sunday morning time.
