The Daffodil - Cheltenham

You don't expect to find a really elegant restaurant in a far flung place like Cheltenham.

Woops think I posted photos twice for this. Decor - 1920s dining room - really lovely.

First meal in England and was a bit disappointedAmbience is great, service was attentive, but food was far below expectations.

Very nice restaurant, the staff are very attentive, without being pushy and very nice, not to feel hurried. eat as always very good. we only visit once a year for a special occasion and look forward to our visits.

Bar staff inconspicuous, old to get a cocktail, 15 minutes too late, as restaurant staff not able to locate us!( once shown, table, it was not properly dressed for dinner, further delays our meal. Scallop starters were lukewarm and tasteless, the slum nets were extremely fat with little meat. table service very bad, table not properly cleaned after curses, did not serve the same time as net. a classic fall of a pretentious dining room that rests on the laurels. once a pleasant and fun experience, unfortunately no longer the case.
