Applebee's Grill - Chelsea

This restaurant is in need of more staff. The employees who are currently working do their best to manage the guests, but the wait times can be quite long. The food is decent when it arrives, but the high turnover seems to be due to the rudeness of some patrons towards the staff. I hope things improve for this establishment!

On Veterans Day, my husband, a veteran, wanted to eat at this restaurant, but he was unfortunately unable to go due to illness, so I decided to order takeout instead. They prepared our order quickly, but the food was quite disappointing. I had a shrimp dish, and many of the shrimp were clumped together in a thick layer of overcooked batter. The slaw came with hardly any dressing, so I had to add some at home. My husband ordered a pasta dish that he had enjoyed in the past, but this time it had so little sauce that he couldn't enjoy it at all. I truly hope that the veterans who dined in the restaurant had a better experience than we did with our takeout. We've been coming here every year on Veterans Day for many years, and we were very disappointed this time.

This is our 3rd visit and likely last. Greeted by hostess who committed that it was a bit slow for a Sunday. First visit we waited 45 minutes pass the time quoted that food would be ready. Second time the order was an hour late with wrong food order.Today we were seated but waitress never came. She walked over to the area and spoke to the only other couple in the section asshe wiped a table. They committed on when order would be ready. She never acknowledged us. Employee at the bar made eye contactand watched us walk out.

The service was extremely slow. I’ve tried giving this place several chances to improve, but it’s clear that this location needs new management and staff who are actually motivated to work. This will be my last visit, and from the conversations I’ve overheard, others share my frustration.

Hubby and I live in Chelsea and never have we EVER experienced a night like tonight. Greeted by Mgr. John Dardsden, we were served with excellence and the food was oooooh so good. After having repeated disappointing visits in the past, we'd given upand decided we wouldn't return. Tonight's experience changed all that. Great Management won us back as regulars!!! ThanksJohn????
