Royal Sushi Teriyaki - Chehalis

I'm a local consistent customer. Royal Sushi is a special treat that brings me pain to eat, solely because I know that eventually my plate will be empty. The Salmon Delight is so delicious that it has ruined every other sushi roll for me.

They get a 3 for flavor, service, and atmosphere. When I came in, I was sat, served my food within 10 minutes of sitting down. It was quick, but too quick. My spicy tuna roll came out first and it was blehh, okay. One minute later, my chicken katsu plate was served. Here’s my issue, katsu takes awhile to cook, and because it was served so quick, I questioned my food. Second, the chicken katsu is not katsu at all. Chicken katsu is supposed to have panko, and this clearly was not cooked it panko. I got the impression that this chicken was already cooked and they air fried it. I will add that I gave a 3 for flavor because it doesn’t taste horrible but it’s also not katsu, therefore, it does not taste like katsu at all. Waitress was quick and attentive when needed. But absolutely not worth the price at all.

Truthfully the best teriyaki and yakisoba I have ever had and I have tried many places. I love that the chicken was tender and moist. Also it was the perfect amount of flavor (not soaking in sauce). There was smokiness to the meat which was wonderful too. I recommend!
