Exo Trattoria-Pizza au four a Bois

My wife and I stopped in Chateauguay for lunch during a recent trip and decided to dine at Restaurant Exo Trattoria. Although the exterior wasn't much to look at, the interior was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant has been revamped by a new young chef in the past 5 months, and the improvements are noticeable. We opted for the fixed-price lunch menu and were impressed with the mushroom appetizer, margarita pizza, and pasta primavera. The dessert and coffee were also included in the meal, and we each enjoyed a glass of wine at a special lunch price. The chef uses fresh and tasty ingredients, and the presentation of the dishes was impeccable. With a look at the dinner menu, it's clear that this place will be busy every night. The restaurant has updated furnishings and improved decor, but the lighting is dim. The atmosphere feels rushed, and the new menu lacks traditional Italian dishes. The pizza is good, but overall the menu is too basic for my liking. I was somewhat disappointed.

It took over the location of the old Tamara and they have fixed up the place a bit to improve the ambience. The lighting could be lowered a bit, and candles on the table at night would be a nice touch, but overall it is a big improvement. The food was very reasonably priced and excellent. The cod dish which was a new addition to the menu was very good, and the fresh pasta was cooked perfectly. Not a big wine list, but decent every day wines at a reasonable price. Well worth a try.

This restaurant has the worst service I have ever encountered. I genuinely feared the waiter was going to become aggressive.
