We booked the day before for myself and my bridal party and then the night of the wedding. We also booked a breakfast for the wedding party on the morning after the wedding. We met The Star Inn at the wedding fayre for Brooksby Hall and they offered the best price around but never pressured us to buy a certain amount of rooms like other hotels. From the minute we booked which was a year before the wedding they treat us like royalty. When we arrived to pay a couple month before the wedding the staff were so kind and helpful it really felt like we were staying with friends. When everything is so stressful organising a wedding you simply must pick to stay here because they will look after you so well. The bridal suite (Seagrave Suite was perfect for getting ready in the morning. Ample space for my makeup artist and hairdresser as well as my three bridesmaids. There was room for the dresses to hang too. While we got ready the adorable housekeeper came with fresh towels water and biscuits but her energy was perfect too as she was as excited as me for the wedding! The bed was so comfortable, clean and beautifully presented with fancy throw pillows. The bathroom has a mirror that lights up (perfect for getting ready! as well as a rain shower, normal shower, and bath tub which made the perfect night before pamper session. There was parking outside enough for everybody although some on the street slightly away from the hotel and pub. It was also great to have photos in the morning on the green outside. The food is delicious here with brilliant kitchen staff. The bartenders are also friendly helpful and chatty. If it isn't obvious already this is the best hotel and pub in the local area and the perfect wedding stay. I would give more stars if I could. Thank you so much everybody who looked after me and more importantly my wonderful family.
Friendly family run pub with rooms. Fantastic continental breakfast included in room rate. Good outdoor space.
From the real ale selection (especially on a Monday) to the food, staff and furnishings, this inn was a revelation. I will be including it in my itinerary of dining pubs. Sheer class.
Ramblers Anonymous. We are a group of approx seven walkers who meet up about once a month to do a ramble around Leicestershire.we always start and finish at a pub ,this Sunday was a stroll around Thrussington and lunch at the Star. The meal was disappointing with reheated vegetables and inedible roast potatoes.very disappointing.
Highly recommend, stayed here 3 nights. Staff were friendly, food was good, breakfast times flexible to suit our needs. Locals were all friendly and great atmosphere.
