Downtown Deli - Charlottetown

Great food. On the day I visited I had the smoke salmon bagel with a side salad. Everything was delicious and fresh.Downtown Deli is a very popular spot for the downtown lunch crowd. A little something for everyone. It may not have the best prices in town, but you are paying for quality.

I paid $30 for two ham and cheese and one tuna sandwich. They all came with a tiny handful of spring salad and a quarter kosher dill pickle. Seriously delicious sandwiches but the price is insane.

I've traveled a bit in my life, spanning over 4 continents and tasted quite a few different meals, both from the local cuisine, but also from more widely known or commen sorts of eating, i.e the burger; I have although never tasted a burger as good as the "Outlaw Burger" anywhere in the world; and when you also recieve excellent and polite service, you only want to return.

Don't know how I've missed this one up until now; it's great! Some residents of the area obviously know about it, enough to make it a popular lunch spot. Possibly because it doesn't open until 11:00 a.m and closes at 6:00 p.m Except on Saturday, when it shuts down at 4:00 p.m And it's closed Sunday. However, it's well worth arranging your schedule to match; the food is wonderful! If you've ever had an authentic Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich you've probably been to Montreal. But you can have the real thing here. The brisket to make it, comes directly from Montreal. And it's only one highlight of a really interesting menu, like Grilled Chicken and Pear. Or Bacon Avocado Chicken Club, Garden Veggie and Brie Cheese and a Falafel Sandwich. There's homemade soups, pizza, salads, and even the coffee is good. Prices are good, service is excellent, and if you're in or near Charlottetown you really shouldn't miss the Downtown Deli.
