Skrimp Shack - Charlottesville

Update: Gave it another shot today for lunch and was not disappointed this time. It's not cheap, but is definitely worth it. I had the shrimp poboy meal, my wife had the whiting sandwich meal, and my son had the chicken nuggets kids meal. The poboy with spicy sauce was fantastic. It had a lot of shrimp on it and the sauce was delicious with a medium spice. The roll was good and not too large for the number of shrimp. The whiting sandwich was absolutely stacked with fish. I think there were probably 4 filets on it that were delicious. The kids meal was solid for what it was. The staff were also incredibly attentive and checked on us frequently. Would highly recommend. Original: Went around 6pm on Tuesday for my son's birthday and it was closed randomly (hours online are posted as open until 9pm). Someone was in the kitchen and some of the lights were on, but the Open sign was off and door was locked. No sign posted about being closed (no hours posted at all). Very disappointed.

These folks were so nice to us while we were on vacation when we stopped by. They even have wonderful inspirational quotes on the wall and the food is amazing and delicious. UPDATE TO OWNER: Yes, we were the people who ordered the whole thing and then oops! we forgot to tell you it was to go! but then you all packaged it up and we went to the state park north of town and had a beautiful picnic, all thanks to you ! Thanks again! All best wishes in your continued success and thanks for opening on Monday because otherwise we wouldn't have been able to visit.

We added shrimp to one order and they forgot to bring it. Manager brought it out right away and apologized, so no big deal. Food was really good. Shrimp was fried perfectly. The tacos were fantastic, they had a spicy dressing that was really delicious. The vanilla wafer pudding is worth a try. The restaurant is small so it can become very packed, customers waiting on their orders standing in front of the drink fountain or by the exit. Overall a good experience and will return again.

First time visit to Skrimp Shack was a success, fast service, helpful employees and not to forget delicious food! I came around 1:30 for lunch and I didn’t have much of a wait. I ordered the lunch special, which includes a sandwich, fries and a soft drink for $8.25 which is a steal in my opinion for everything you get! You have a choice of the catfish, chicken or whiting. I went with the catfish. The quality of the food was great! I definitely was surprised : One of the best fish sandwiches in Charlottesville! *The Lunch Special is available 10:30 am 3 pm The restaurant itself was really clean! Employees were diligent about taking out the trash and cleaning the tables. I can’t wait to come back :

1st time Trying this Chain as I’ve been very skeptical and nervous. From the Friendly Warm Customer Service Started with taking my Phone Order to Assisting with my menu selections to being prompt-picking up my order to the short but sweet small talk while completing my order. Everything was definitely fresh, my favorite was the delicious seasoned Green Beans.. yes it’s canned but ITS SEASONED TO PERFECTION, I can’t wait to try the Greens. Hush puppies were a bit sweet but different and appeasing to my tastebuds. The best was the Grilled shrimp tacos with the mild sauce Super Simple and Tasty
