Passiflora - Charlottesville

I had high hopes for the unique cocktails but was let down by the modified margarita, which was unbalanced and had unmixed fruit pulp at the bottom. The seasonal sorbet for dessert was raspberry with a questionable accompaniment of a shortbread cookie and possibly a macerated cherry. The sorbet itself was icy and grainy, lacking a smooth texture despite its strong raspberry flavor. While the service, pacing, and ambience were satisfactory, the limited menu, lack of sides, and flaws in the dishes would prevent me from returning. With many other dining options nearby, I will explore different restaurants next time I visit the Charlottesville Mall.

This restaurant is adorable with beautiful decor and a great atmosphere. It was odd that they were out of all wines, but the service, food, and drinks were all excellent. The margarita was delicious, the complimentary chips were a nice touch, and the steak fajitas were fantastic. The steak was a skirt steak, which was a bit different from traditional steak fajitas, but still very tasty. I will definitely be returning!

We had a reservation for 8:00 PM, but the table was not ready when we arrived. We waited for about 10 minutes while they cleaned it. It took another 30 minutes for our server to greet us, and then an additional hour just to get our drinks. We only received two out of the four appetizers we ordered, both of which were cold. When our food finally arrived, it was also cold and bland. Despite our reservation being for 8:00, we did not leave until 10:00. We also had to wait a long time for the check. I am extremely disappointed with the experience.

This restaurant is great for cocktails, like a tasty Spicy Margarita. However, I would not recommend it for food. I ordered Shrimp Empanadas and was disappointed to find no shrimp in them - they were basically just fried cornmeal with a few green onions. The "fried oysters" used to be good, but now they taste like hush puppies. The nachos had old refried beans on them. On the bright side, the server was friendly.

I really enjoy the spicy margarita happy hour special paired with the personal-sized appetizer. I have visited this restaurant multiple times and have tried everything from the fajitas to the jackfruit burrito. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating. I am looking forward to the rooftop opening soon!
