First Watch - Charlottesville

First Watch servers do an amazing job and I go here for breakfast a number of times a week. The food is incredible and it consistently sets the gold standard for a first class breakfast. Their Kale Tonic juices are some of the best you will find anywhere on the planet. I love this place and I will keep going.

What an amazing experience. I think my mom is hiding in the kitchen because the food came out like there was love in it. Great presentation, fresh and pleasant attention to detail. Totally recommend to have a wonderful meal and eating experience.

The food is fine, I don’t really have many complaints. It’s not amazing but there is a decent bit of variety which is pretty cool! As a vegetarian, it’s nice to see enough variety to not have to order the same thing every time. The staff has left a lot to be desired, unfortunately.I’ve been here with my friends twice and both times the waiting staff has made unwarranted, condescending and/or rude comments either directly to us or in the form of jokes that made me and the rest of the group i was with feel uncomfortable. Some of the waiting staff was a little too obvious checking out some of the women at our table too. I don’t really feel the need to come back if I or my party will feel unwelcome, objectified, or harassed by the staff every time they walk by to service us or even just nearby tables.It really is too bad, though. Their Belgian waffle is pretty good.

Finally tried this place and ate here twice in a week. Overall, I thought it was okay. The menu is extensive and unique and the dining atmosphere is rather nice. The fried potatoes were rather fantastic. However, the service is okay, barely saw our server and it was only to take our order and then a different one delivered our food. My wife ordered the carrot cake pancakes and was very disappointed. The carrots are not cooked, they are raw and crunchy within the pancake giving it a rather weird texture. Also, its a carrot cake pancake and did not come with any cream cheese frosting. I am sure others like the pancakes, it was just not what we were expecting. Glad we ate here and would recommend at least trying as it seems to be a rather popular Charlottesville breakfast spot.
