Brasserie Saison - Charlottesville

Absolutely wonderful in every aspect. We had a rough beginning to our evening at another restaurant, but Alexa was resolute about ensuring our experience at her establishment would be fantastic. And it truly was! The cocktails were served quickly, followed shortly by incredible appetizers. Our main courses were flawless in every regard. It was genuinely exceptional, especially with Alexa attending to us. With the support of the talented bar and kitchen staff, she made our evening truly memorable. Thank you so much, Alexa! We will definitely be back!

The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired. We didn't receive water service, and when the waitress finally came to our table with our main courses, we had to request that our first course plates be cleared. This was frustrating, especially since we had observed the staff clearing and resetting empty tables right in front of us. No one checked in on how we were enjoying our meal, and we had to ask for a water refill. Additionally, there were three options for red wine, but they were out of two of them, leaving us with only one choice. As someone with a sweet tooth, I found it hard to enjoy my time there and was eager to leave.

Brasserie Saison offers a thoughtfully curated seasonal menu for both their entrées and cocktails. Everything was exceptional, especially the cranberry gastrique paired with spiced squash and lentils. The cocktails exuded a lovely autumnal fragrance. The outdoor seating has a charming vibe, while the interior feels cozy and intimate. Although the portions are somewhat on the smaller side, which affects the value score, the outstanding service, inviting atmosphere, and delicious food more than compensate for it. I've had a wonderful experience overall.

I had a fantastic dinner here! The decor is lovely, and both the bar and tables are inviting. The mussels were outstanding, and the fries were possibly the best I've ever tasted. I really enjoyed the steak tartare, and the scallops were delicious as well, although they could have been a little crispier on the outside. I appreciated the fresh sides of ice and tomatoes. There's a great selection of tap beers and cocktails, too. They even provided us with masks when we forgot ours. Plus, there are options for outdoor seating!

Although the portions are on the smaller side, which affects the value score somewhat, the overall experience excels in service, ambiance, and quality of food. I’ve visited several times and can’t wait to return!
