(Also hot sauce and additional seasoning were definitely needed. It was crowded for a weekday (but that could have possibly just been their lunch rush. Even with the crowd , the service was still on point. The vibe inside was light, modern, and slightly gentrified. I would consider this place more of a southern styled food restaurant as opposed to a soul food spot. I came in with high hopes and low expectations, but left unimpressed. The food was edible, I didn’t have to send it back, but I just felt it missed the mark. My stomach was fed, but my soul was not. The cocktails were small, although they cost close to the price of an additional entree. the flavor was minimal and I couldn’t taste the alcohol. So in my humble opinion, the drinks were not worth ordering. Overall, this place was nothing to write home about, it was a regular restaurant. but I was treated so nicely that I’m not opposed to doubling back in for a quick bite if I find myself back in the area.Parking: Parking was terrible. I parked on the street in a clearly marked parking spot but there was a still ticket on my car when I came out of the restaurant
Great place for dinner! I had the meatloaf; scratch made with pot and chorizo. It was not overly chorizo spicy but just took the meatloaf to the next level and is packed with flavor. My meatloaf sides were the crispy parm rosemary potato’s and Mac n cheese. Double yum! My husband got the fried chicken with broccolini. On point. The biscuits… wow. With local honey, jam or creamy butter; unbelievable. Next time we’re in the area we’ll be back.
Try hot chicken entree and biscuits appetizer. It was really good. We got seated immediately and service was way better than excellent than the upscale places we had visited in the last few months. Hot chicken with waffles and Mac n cheese was really good. Cast iron prok chop great. Chicken and waffles great.. overall food and service is great. Prices were right. Must visit.
We stopped in here with friends while visiting Charlotte. We heard about the great brunch selection, and we were not disappointed. There is outdoor and indoor seating, including a bar area. Very clean and new inside. The staff was all friendly and attentive to everyone. The food was amazing. They have a lot of combinations you can’t get in the northeast. My chicken and waffles combination was fantastic. I especially loved the basil they add. It’s a nice touch that I would never have thought of. Overall great experience and would definitely return if in the Charlotte area.
A great place for brunch with a variety of tasty food options. I had the Old Skool Breakfast Bowl and it was delicious. Making a reservation helps to reduce wait time for seating.
