Unfortunately, today there was 9/1/22 a middle woman who took orders, and her presence seemed to destroy her whole operation. Every person who was ordered was shot of coffee trying to make a nice mood, but certainly increased waiting times. I love coming to this place, but a disturbing element has certainly thrown off the shops today.
Finally got a chance to try Smelly Cat and it wasn't disappointed! I have the Ethiopian cold brew that was fantastic. My parents have herbal teas. I didn't try anything from the food when we just came back from Amelie, so I can't talk about it. Service was very friendly, helpful with suggestions and patients with decisions, although they were busy. They had plenty of outdoor seats, which was really nice, but I couldn't say what was going on with the inside seats. The door looked inside to lock and there was a sign that someone who wanted to get help from the Barista. Maybe another Kovid? Anyway, can't talk to the inner aesthetic, but I'll definitely be back for more Ethiopian cold brew!
If you have never been here before, beware that it 's not set up like a regular coffee shop. I came on a Sunday and couldn 't figure out how to get inside the cafe as the front door was locked. I walked around the building and the side window was closed too. I saw other people sitting outside and had to ASK how I can order coffee: you have to ring the doorbell at the side window, place your order, and ask them to unlock the door so you can sit inside. Aside from that, the coffee itself was great.
I was in town for a couple of days and wanted coffee before starting our adventure for the day. We got 2 breakfast items and 2 coffees. (25$ btw Got the coffees right away and it was BAD. It was very bitter and we didn?t even get half way through before throwing them away. They made us step aside for the food so that they can serve the customers behind us in line. Well we waited? and waited? and there was no indication our food was done other than the fact that people that stood behind us in line were getting their complete order and no one ever said anything to us. We went back to barista at the window that had our food sitting behind her the entire time!! Halfway back to the car we realized we were missing half of the order so we had to walk all the way back (parking was full so we were 2 blocks away. luckily the quiche was actually pretty tasty so they mildly redeemed themselves. Over all, not a great experience. This is a place where if you judge it by it?s cover it should be good but in reality the looks surpass the quality. Go to Amelie?s instead.
I had great hopes in this place. I just couldn't understand. We had reservations to eat inside. We had no idea where to go. The doors were closed. We saw a woman wearing a tablet that took another table, so we thought we had to wait until she came back to sit down. She never did. We went into a window to ask what we had to do. The guy told us to go to the other window, skip the line and tell them we had a reservation. I did. The person in this window said we have to wait in the line, order our food, and then we would be let in. What was the point of having a reservation if we had to be in the same line as all others? When we finally got in, my friend got her food and coffee, and I didn't get mine. My friend didn't eat there until an employee came by and asked why they didn't enjoy their food. That was the only reason I ever got my food. The breakfast Burrito was tiny, but the coffee was good. We went down the street and got Reigning Doughnuts right after, because we were still hungry. All in all, it was a disappointing stop. Loves the coffee mural on the side of the building!
