Sabor Latin Street Grill (uptown)

My experience at this Mexican restaurant was not the best. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to try something new, but I would rate it around two stars. I placed my order through DoorDash, and it arrived quite messy. I specifically requested extra sour cream on my burrito, but it came without any. I also ordered churros, which arrived without any sugar or cinnamon – just plain. The burrito itself was average and not particularly impressive, while the elote was decent; the corn was juicy, but it lacked toppings. I found four churros for $6 a bit pricey compared to other places I've been to, though they were a reasonable size. The burrito cost $12. Overall, it didn’t meet my expectations.

First and foremost, I don’t blame Uber for this situation since they pull their prices and menus directly from the restaurant. The classic arepa was poorly constructed. I paid extra for steak and chicken but received only steak, and even that was minimal. It was mostly filled with onions and jalapeños. The rice was another issue altogether; I was charged extra for it, but all I received was a tiny sauce cup of rice—not even a full portion. This feels like a major rip-off and is incredibly misleading. I called the restaurant to address these concerns, but the man who answered was rude and dismissive, attempting to blame Uber for the charges, despite the fact that they set the prices and inform Uber what to display on their app. When I asked how they would rectify this awful experience, he claimed they couldn’t do anything. I expressed disappointment at how they handle customer complaints, and he abruptly hung up on me. Overall, the food was subpar, the customer service was atrocious, and the way they manage issues is unacceptable.

I keep giving this restaurant chain another shot, but honestly, it just doesn't meet my expectations. This particular location had friendly staff and quick service, but it wasn't the cleanest. Unfortunately, the tacos were quite bland, and the prices don't match the quality of the food. The margaritas were alright but way too sweet for my taste—I couldn't even finish mine. On the plus side, I do appreciate their salsa bar and the fact that they serve real Coca-Cola in bottles. Since this location is in uptown, it's best to either find street parking or walk here if you're planning to pick up your order quickly.

Asada fries were amazing. Guy taking the orders was friendly and attentive. Prices feel appropriate. Good Mexican beer selection and the pineapple habanero salsa is just the right amount of heat with sweet. I?ll be back for more!!!

I Ordered online and picked it up. Some annoying woman was standing at the front of the line at the pickup part eating her food and it rambling on, it was a few minutes before the staff let her know someone else was in line because she just wouldn't come up for air. I ordered a Cuban bowl with queso and corn. The food tastes delicious and very flavorful. But I paid for a queso that I wanted that was never put in the bag and that bothered me because I was not driving back to get it. There was also no parking. I would probably try again if I was dining inside but never order pick-up again.
