Mi Barrio Halal Latin Grill - Charlotte

When Mi Barrio opened a few years ago, the food was excellent, the service was top-notch, and the sanitary score always exceeded 95. However, in recent years, their score has fluctuated, even dropping into the high 80s. I understand that we can't know what goes on in every restaurant's kitchen, but a low sanitary score at any establishment is enough for me to reconsider dining there. The staff is always friendly and eager to assist, and the food has been good in the past. If you're someone who doesn't mind the sanitation rating, you might still want to give it a try.

I'm always happy to visit this spot when I'm on the east side of Charlotte. The black tilapia and curry chicken are both excellent choices, and the mac and cheese is a must-try!

Beautiful ambiance and warm hospitality! I'm always welcomed with a friendly greeting when I step inside. I absolutely love this place! The food is consistently DELICIOUS every time I visit!

I’ve had a frustrating experience trying to place an order over the phone. Unfortunately, no one who answers seems to speak any English, and they often get upset and hang up. It’s surprising that a restaurant catering to mostly English-speaking customers doesn’t have someone available to translate. The staff's attitude when they can’t understand you doesn't help either. They really need to improve their customer service.

The food was decent, but it fell short in terms of flavor. I ordered the oxtail and mac and cheese, and both dishes didn't meet my expectations for taste. However, the staff were very nice, and the atmosphere was welcoming.
