Caribbean Hut - Charlotte

I enjoy the food. The cattle patties are great. All employees are always nice. I like the curry chicken and the backpack chicken. Sometimes it's so hot that I can't eat it. You need to find out who cooks that day to understand how you like your food. It is one of the better places with authentic Caribbean food. I recommend this place.

Lackluster space but amazing food. Great service but must be mindful that a lot of ppl do takeout. This created a long wait for food service. We didn't get any refills on Drinks but the food was more than filling. The waitress was kind and very respectful. She apologized for wait inconvenience it didn't bother us at all. Much better than my last encounter years ago. I had Brown stew chicken and got a great portion. They aren't stingy on the entree!!! Worth the price!

My Husband and I frequent Caribbean Hut, so we decided to get dinner yesterday Sunday Feb. 6, 2022 from this Caribbean hut on Woodlawn instead of cooking dinner, in which we should have just went ahead and cooked. First off the prices are always changing, we both ordered a Large combination plate with Curry Chicken and Curry Goat and the price was $61.70, granted we went there about a week ago ordered the same thing only difference was I had Oxtails and Curry chicken and the price was $51 including taxes. Does Goat cost more than Oxtails? I called today just to ask what the price was for a Large curry chicken and Goat combo and the man told me it cost $30.85. why are the prices changing everyday. This is very disheartening because we like the food when it cooked fresh and they do give you a good amount of food, but be consistent. Secondly, like I mentioned we went there yesterday Sunday and got the combo Curry Goat and Chicken as usual and this time it gave both me and my husband diarrhea, not cool at all. Not sure if they had different cooks or they are selling old food, they need to be mindful on what they are serving customers, so people are not ending up with an upset stomach. I hope the manager Owner reads this if they care anything about their customers so that he she can make adjustments. A few of the men and Women at this Woodlawn location and Tryon location need to fix their attitudes as well, No one is going to want to patronize a business where the employees are rude and always have an attitude.

Stumbled upon this place as I was outside my hotel looking for lunch. They appear to be offering take out only at this time. I asked what was especially spicy on the menu and the jerk chicken was recommended. I have to day, it was wickedly spicy indeed! It tasted great whenever my tongue could cool off enough to function properly. The rice was not so fresh. The cabbage was good. I ordered a beef pattie in case I didn't like the food, and it was also quite good. Portion size was extremely generous even though I ordered the small. Prices were very reasonable. I was not made to feel welcome. The wait staff did acknowledge me but offered no smiles or friendly welcome. There was a steady stream of customers, so I guess they won't loose.

The restaurant has a lunch special that supposedly last until 4p.m. I arrived at the restaurant around 3:48. The line was held until after 4. Advised cashier that I was there before 4 to order lunch special was basically told oh well it's after 4 with no remorse. Granted someone that I was with had just placed an order per the receipt at 4:02 and was able to receive the lunch special. Ended up paying FULL PRICE for the smallest portion of chicken I've ever received from here. The pieces posted are supposed to be curry chicken THIGHS. Cashier did it intentionally and they lost a loyal customer. No need to reply to this message because, today will be my LAST time giving Caribbean Hut any further BUSINESS.
