Wild Common - Charleston

My fiancé and I truly appreciate great food and unique tasting experiences. However, we left this restaurant feeling hungry, which has never happened to us after a tasting menu. We chose to add wine pairings, which cost an additional $350, and our total bill came to nearly $700, yet we were still looking for food afterward. Our experience felt extremely rushed; we were seated outside and finished our meal in under two hours. The server was distant, the food was average, and our main dishes arrived lukewarm. We requested wagyu beef instead of lamb, but honestly, nothing stood out. We even asked the kitchen for additional food, even offering to pay extra, but they claimed they didn’t have enough and seemed to be closing down before we had finished. I truly dislike writing reviews like this, but I feel compelled to share my honest opinion. There wasn’t anything memorable about this restaurant, except for the stunning entrance. The interior has a parlor-like feel, which is nice, but this venue seems better suited for events than a dining experience. We won't be returning and will definitely share our thoughts with friends who visit Charleston.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. However, it would have been perfect if there had been more protein on the plate, as we left feeling a bit hungry. Overall, I'm giving it 5 out of 5!

Amazing tasting menu with view into the chefs plating the food. Precision, flavor bombs, and personality from the wait staff, to the sommelier, to the chefs!

I've been following this restaurant for years on social media, and it was the driving force for our stay in Charleston.... haha no pressure! My wife and I booked a reservation for our anniversary and absolutely it blew us away. If you enjoy chef's menus/tastings you cannot skip this spot!Food: 5/5

I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our meal at Wild Common. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly, attentive, and unpretentious. The atmosphere was unfussy and modern. The tasting menu was the perfect combination of interesting, small bites served reasonably close together, and larger courses more spaced out. The wine pairings were also interesting and well suited to the dishes. I paid the same price for a tasting menu at another Charleston restaurant the next day, and it was not even in the same ballpark as Wild Common!! This should be the most sought-after table in town.
