Shoney's - Charleston

The bathroom of the lady sinks like canal and you can smell it in the dining room. We sat and waited 20 minutes before someone noticed we were sitting here. But the waitress said she turned, but it wasn't her turn, but she helped anyway and was very friendly. Food is fine

We had our Thanksgiving dinner here and it was absolutely wonderful! They had a wide selection of meat pages. She offered a real cut turkey and also processed turkey. You said the customer was both preferred. I prefer processing and my husband prefers really cut. He had a nice smoked apple ham. Fried chicken, country fried steak, spaghetti meatballs. Stuffing, potatoes, green beans, corn, Mac and cheese, cabbage and so much more. If people are hungry, I can't understand! They had their beautiful salad fruit bar pumpkin cake. Nothing to complain???????? This is the first time that David, Olivia, has visited me since before the COVID and we were not disappointed at all. I think the price was reasonable per person and we were happy to find Shoney's open and not only 2 more restaurants that don't serve a variety. Thank you so much that Kanawha BLVD Shoney is always delicious and there!

Terrible, terrible food. I had 't eaten at a Shoney's for a long time, so decided to give it an attempt as it was very close to the Tesla charger I used. Ah! Big mistake! They only offer a few fresh sandwiches and push their everything you eat buffet as their primary offer. They don't even have a menu that is how strong they press the buffet. The quality of the food offered was very low, all I tried was overly baked, over boiled and overly sweet or salted. Didn't have a bad experience in such a time. I guess when I saw Southern Cooking, I was hoping it would be more like Cracker Barrel (which I love! . Honestly speaking, given the choice between another Shoney's experience and something from the roller grill at a gas station, the roller grill will win every time! Even the atmosphere here was dark, old and stale. And the costs were not even extremely low. The staff was the only redeeming quality that this Shoney had. Very nice and friendly, but their only real role is to take away your dirty plates and bring drinks. I don't remember the last time I left everything you can eat hungry. I just couldn't find a single product on the buffet that was in any way satisfying. I stopped at a gas station on the way out of town and took a bag of Doritos. Shoney was really so bad...

The server tried. The buffet was terrible. The hot food was cold. The salad bar was fresh, but the salad dress was rinsed. Literally, no taste was so watered. The server didn't know satisfied with eating on our plates. It was impossible. The restaurant needs urgent attention. It was terrible. $31 later (the adjusted invoice) and their tip (it was not their fault) It was so bad.

The staff were very friendly. They really seem to care for the customers. The food was average to mediocre. Most items were bland. The only lettuce they had on the salad bar was iceberg lettuce. Good value for the money though. You won't go away hungry.
