Second State Coffee - Charleston

I discovered Second State Coffee during my visit to Charleston about a year ago, and ever since returning home, I’ve been ordering four bags of their Heavy Weight Coffee each month. It’s the most perfectly balanced, smooth coffee I’ve ever had, and I highly recommend everyone give this place a try. Now, I measure most coffee against Second State—they’ve truly set the standard for what I expect from great coffee.

The best avocado toast I’ve ever had! It was a generous slice topped with a good amount of avocado, truly worth the price. The Chai Latte was excellent, and the Americano was quite good as well. Food: 5/5!

As a tour guide in Charleston and a coffee enthusiast, I can confidently say that this is the best coffee I've tasted in the city. The staff here is incredibly friendly and skilled, and while the prices are similar to Starbucks, the quality of the barista training and the menu offerings is significantly superior. There's one just a five-minute walk from my home, and I rarely choose any other place for my coffee fix.

Stopped in for coffee one morning while visiting the area and HAD to try the waffles! The lemon, blueberry were really good. The brewed coffee was excellent as well!Food: 5/5

The coffee was really good. I had a waffle with prosciutto and my company had a waffle with peanut butter and bananas both were really good. They have tables outside. Bathroom was very clean.Food: 5/5
