Royal American - Charleston

Came for a drink and ended up with the tasty double patty Pharmacy burger. Split the burger with my fiance and added some disco fries to share. What a great dinner for two.

The staff was friendly, and the food was enjoyable. I would rate it as decent bar food overall. Also, keep in mind that when you visit Charleston, there's an 11% local tax on food, which I found to be a bit steep.

The food, drinks, and service were exceptional. We had a great time enjoying the three live bands last night.

This does not seem like a place that fits with the typical Charleston crowds, which makes it even better! The food was amazing. Prolly one of the best French dives I had in the tub. The Bourbon punch was also great. Will definitely be back for more. Only a warning there is no table service for those who do not want to get up and get their own stuff.

Friendly place that can be a dive bar, a restaurant with good burgers and more, a place for more upmarket beers and cocktails, or some combination of all the above. Nice to have an outside area and two inside areas as well. Plentiful easy parking too.
