Josephine Wine - Charleston

Lovely setting. After being here a few times, it always seems a bit too loud, and too hot, even when it is not crowded. The wine selections are very good, and we will definitely be back for future visits as we live in the neighborhood.

I’ve been here twice now and its becoming a new favorite downtown. Excellent service, great bartenders, food was outstanding (literally every dish including dessert), great wine, and atmosphere is lively but not ridiculously loud. Also, because of the location, it’s not touristy...so if you’re a chic and well behaved tourist go there and mingle with the locals.

The wine selection is fantastic, the food is delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and efficient! Thank you for a wonderful first meal in Charleston! I highly recommend the Goat Cheese Toast with sour cherries, the Cavatelli with sausage and pepper, the short rib with polenta, and the ravioli. The Cab Franc paired perfectly with the meal! Additionally, Josephine made me a delicious drink tailored to my preference, as I don’t like grapefruit. Rachel is a joy behind the bar!

Absolutely fantastic! The chef truly knows his craft. Anything served with the beurre blanc sauce is guaranteed to be exceptional. My husband even ordered an extra bread basket just so he could enjoy more of it. The small plates and vegetarian options are cleverly designed and full of creativity. Highly recommended, and the wine selection is impressive as well!

A friend recommended this restaurant when it seemed like everywhere else was closed during Hurricane Florence. The wine was fantastic, and the Polenta Entenplatte was simply divine. I found myself wanting to steal half of my friend's plate because it was that delicious! The decor is stunning as well. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for enjoying a glass (or two) of wine along with some tasty small dishes.
