Il Cortile Del Re - Charleston

We visited during spring break with our children and were excited based on the positive reviews we had read about the restaurant. After a lovely evening enjoying the beautiful sights of downtown Charleston, we were eager to finish off the night with a nice dinner. Unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. We should have paid more attention to the previous reviews from other sites, as many of the issues they encountered mirrored ours: the intestines and manicotti were just average! Our daughter ordered the ravioli and barely touched half of it. When we requested more bread, they brought out cold, stale pieces. The waitstaff were rarely around, and when we finally managed to catch their attention, it felt like we were inconveniencing them. To top it off, the prices were outrageous, totaling over $150 for five of us with just one beer and a glass of wine. There are far better dining options in Charleston—save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Welcoming, cozy, and pricey... I visited several times, and each meal was a delight.

The meal was really disappointing, especially since my brother came all the way from Britain. I had hoped it would be better.

Very nice! My husband and I went for our wedding party and enjoyed our culinary experience. Not too many facilities offer Hof restaurants, this is what attracts us to this restaurant.

By far the best Italian restaurant in Charleston their food is always fresh and perfectly prepared. Highly recommended!
