Edison James Island - Charleston

What a fantastic restaurant! I adored the farmhouse vibe. The sommelier was incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable, guiding us in choosing delicious wines to complement our meals. Our waitress went above and beyond to ensure my husband and I, who have several food allergies, received excellent meal options. She even offered to take our picture on the deck and surprised us with a complimentary dessert for our honeymoon. We tried the shrimp cavatelli and the pan-seared swordfish, and both dishes were superb. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming—I highly recommend stopping by!

This was our first visit to Folly Beach, and we were looking for a great restaurant to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. I can't say enough positive things about this place and their entire menu! We started with a charcuterie plate, and among the six of us, the Thai coconut soup was fantastic. My son enjoyed the gnocchi with crab, which was delicious, while my husband had the green curry meatballs. The desserts were equally impressive; we had apple fritters and key lime pie, both of which were really good. Paula, our server, was wonderful and surprised our son with dessert and a song! We can't wait to come back the next time we're in town. This restaurant is a MUST-visit! We also loved dining on the patio. Thank you, Michelle D. (Citadel Mom)

The food here is exceptional, and I have no idea why this place isn't busier, especially being so close to Folly Beach. The seared ahi tuna was fantastic, and the appetizers and desserts mentioned in other reviews definitely lived up to, or even exceeded, our expectations. Another pleasant surprise was the level of service. From the moment we walked in with a reservation to the time we left, the service was impeccable. We were seated right away, and you can really tell that the staff is well-trained and focused on making guests feel welcome without being intrusive. It's impressive how well they capture the neighborhood vibe. The beer and wine selection pairs well with the menu, and the ambiance is lovely, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Very high quality fresh food ingredients, tasty sauces and spices, wonderful plating presentation...except for my chipped white slanted soup cup and...LOTS of flies attacking and landing often on our food, plates and utensils. Did not expect that as weattempted valiantly to eat on the patio. You need fans or plate and bowl protecting food screen covers. We covered our plateswith napkins in between bites. Awesome waitress, super friendly and attentive throughout our meal.

This place is ridiculously good. It's the type of place you don't want to review because you don't want anyone else to know about it. Sean always crushes services for us, top tier in every way. Wahoo, burger, short rib, chicken waffles all fantastic.Vibe is a pleasant mix of hip trendy meets home town country family. As I'm writing this I'm thinking to myself, should we gofor brunch right now or will they think it's wierd because we were there last night... I think you know my answer. Cheers!
