I ordered the chicken euro and I was so disappointed that I will never return to this place again and I do not recommend. The cook In the back took some chicken chunks that were a day old and reheated them and put sauce on them and served that to me. I hate reheated chicken and I know exactly what it taste like and it came out very fast which tells me that he did not cook this fresh.I took one bite of that and returned it and left the restaurant.
The food at Athens was above expected quality levels for the restaurants slightly lackluster appearance. The people working at the restaurant were kind and welcoming. Checking in on us often, ensuring that our drinks were constantly topped off. The conversations we had with the staff were enjoyable and brisk, allowing us to enjoy are food while still engaging us where the decor couldn't.We got the Moussaka, Chicken Kebob, and panakopita appetizer all of which we would recommend. The food was well prepared and has given me pause upon the lack of interest upon this small restaurant. However, do not let lack of word deter you, it would be a mistake to miss out on this little restaurant. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, the actual decor of the restaurant is slightly off putting, feeling almost barren of interest. Like a computer graphic for a concept interior design. This issue is small as the final qualifier for a good restaurant is the service and food, which were superb.
This is a very quaint restaurant with a traditional Greek decor. Very charming. I was just so surprised by having the VERY BEST GYRO I’ve ever had!!! You have to try it. Highly recommend!
Love, love the lasagna and the veal Parmesan. Everyone was so nice and friendly even the owner came up and spoke to us. The only thing lacking is maybe some hanging plants for atmosphere.
I have reviewed this place before. Are you looking for great Greek food? This is my favorite place in all of Charleston. It's small, quiet, and never crowded. Try the chicken Kabob, pizza, or Greek salid. These are my favorites.
