We stayed here on the way through Charleston and were glad we did. The food was very good, the place is cool, and our server was a real pleasure to spend an hour with.
I visited Bluegrass Kitchen for the second time a few days ago and I was not disappointed either. It is a wonderful little local joint with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu has a wide selection of dishes and they change it every time in a while, so you can try some new things from time to time. During my first visit in January I got the poutins and I loved them. Unfortunately, they had taken the poutine out of the menu before my recent visit (the bartender told me that there is a possibility that they could bring it back because it is such a popular dish), so that this time I got their Mac and cheese and fries. The frits were good, as always, and to die the Mac and cheese. The rich, creamy cheese sauce took it over the top. I recommend Bluegrass Kitchen.
Great food. Great entertainment on open microphone night. I had the plucked Sole chicken, two breakfast Nitro Stouts (should have stopped at one! And blueberry cake dessert. I'd eat here again. The locals tell me to die the trout and the grottos.
Tried the brunch menu and it was great! We had the Breakfast Potato Skins and the Deep-Dish Quiche du jour. Both were excellent.
