Heavenly Buffaloes - Chapel Hill

I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos. The wings were delicious. I used to live in Buffalo and trained on the wings at the Anchor Bar and Duffs, so I know my wings. They were very meaty. I ordered them medium, but they were on the milder side. I'm not a huge fan of spicy food, but I think their hot would be considered a normal medium. The waffle fries were tasty, but I got them dusted in BBQ rub which was actually too salty for my taste. I recommend trying the garlic parm fries instead. My daughter had them and thought they were fantastic.

Do not choose this place for food delivery. The employees will continuously tell you that your order will be ready in "5 more minutes", only to keep you waiting for a total of 30+ minutes. When asked for an update, they will ask you to wait another 10-15 minutes. While I understand they may be understaffed, lying about the wait time is unnecessary. The head cook/kitchen manager was also rude when I tried to explain that honesty about the wait time is preferred over false promises.

HB is consistently amazing. It is my teenage son's preferred restaurant. While I enjoyed the Durham location, the Chapel Hill one is the clear winner. It has large screens, draft beer, air conditioning, and a lovely patio right on Franklin Street.

Perfect location. I'm sure it gets crazy when all the college kids are in town, but we went mid-July. We were shocked (4 of us for lunch) at the selection. My daughter is a vegan and they had something for her. My wife likes things with a twist so she got some sort of teriyaki glazed wings that were amazing. I just went for the straight heat and they did not disappoint. These are BIG drums, not like some places that give tiny ones.

Amazing as always. There are no better vegan wings. They use locally sourced NC soy nuggets, that get stuck in your teeth like real meat. They even have vegan ranch now. The Sweet Thai Coconut Chili flavor will have you thinking about Heavenly Buffaloes for weeks after.
