As a wheat intolerant vegan it's often hard to find food out and about so Nektar was great for me. Had a wrap with delicious side salad, the juices were seasonal and very fresh and made specific to our taste. The person serving us (I didn't catch his name) was very friendly with us and our son and gave us a few different samples to test of the various foods and it was lovely. Highly recommend for a light bite in Chania.
I had a freshly pressed juice as well as two wraps. The juice was delicious but the wraps had no sauce and were to dry
As an avid enthusiast of both vegan and gluten-free cuisine, I recently visited Nektar with high hopes for a delightful culinary adventure. However, my experience left much to be desired. The café 's commitment to catering to dietary preferences is commendable, but unfortunately, the execution fell short in terms of flavor and seasoning. The menu, boasting an array of vegan and gluten-free options, piqued my interest. The promise of a menu crafted to cater to specialized diets was indeed appealing. Regrettably, the dishes I sampled lacked the vibrant and diverse flavors that I associate with plant-based and gluten-free dining. The absence of well-balanced seasonings left the food tasting flat and uninspiring. One of the hallmarks of successful vegan and gluten-free cuisine is the ability to use creative ingredients and seasonings to elevate the dishes. This, however, was not the case at Nektar. The absence of thoughtful seasoning left each dish without distinction, and it became challenging to differentiate between the flavors of various menu items. From appetizers to main courses, the culinary experience was marked by a consistent blandness that failed to capture the essence of plant-based dining. While I appreciate Nektars commitment to accommodating dietary restrictions, I cannot overlook the crucial aspect of flavor in a dining experience. A well-executed vegan and gluten-free menu should celebrate the natural vibrancy of ingredients and make use of various seasonings to create an enticing blend of tastes. Unfortunately, [Café Name] missed the mark in this regard. In conclusion, my visit to Nektar left me disappointed with the overall dining experience. The café 's dedication to offering vegan and gluten-free options is noteworthy, yet the lack of skillful seasoning and flavor innovation detracted significantly from the meals. While I commend the establishment for catering to specialized diets, I hope to see an improvement in the execution of flavors to truly showcase the potential of vegan and gluten-free cuisine in the future.
Had the beetroot juice which was delicious. The guy working there bought out a taster to check if the amount of ginger was ok. Tasty healthy snacks too. Cute shaded decking out the back.
Tasty, healthy raw food and very friendly owner. Got to taste my juice first to see if I liked it and if I wanted anything else in it. Nice outside space at the back.
