Sakanaya - Champaign

Fantastic miso soup, loved the gyoza, great sushi. The chicken katsu curry was overpriced, the chicken was overcooked, and there was too little curry (but the sauce itself was yummy. Wish it was served in a bowl all together so the flavors could soak. The rice was really good though. Definitely returning to try more, just would steer clear of the curry.

I’ve been to Sakanaya many times and this is the first time I received such rude service. An asian lady served a table of white people with nice voice and attitude, but when she came to my table to take my order, she literally threw the menu on the table and said absolutely nothing to wait for me to order. On the higher end for sushi on campus. There are def more affordable options. Did not think the sushi was as fresh.

Tasty food, will visit again. Friday and sat, do reserve and go. No sake or beer…thats sad.

Pricey but the food is good. There'll be a long queue at dinner time (about 5:40~6PM).
