Big Grove Tavern - Champaign

I’ll start by saying that I cannot review the food since I couldn’t go past the ordering process. First time that my wife and I had to leave a restaurant because of the rudeness of the waitress… Not knowledgeable of the menu and when asked questions, replying very aggressive and bossy. Please make a thorough review of your staff. It will hurt the business… Main point of this review is to avoid another customer to go over the same situation.

Expensive; food used to be worth it but the past few times it has been bland and mediocre at best, with fries that taste like soap. Not coming back for a while.

Don't eat here unless you have time to wait for them to rebook your meal after they screw it up the first time. They charge you for what they screw up. Ordered burger well done, it came rare when we didn't have time to wait for another all they would do is take off $5.00.

Big Grove Tavern is a local institution at this point. This family owned local business offers fresh delicious dishes through the day and a mix of bar/restaurant at night. My favorite dish is the risotto, but you really can't go wrong in your pick. The service is kind and friendly and the staff is well versed in what's good today.

Overpriced, food over-seasoned with Cajun spice, cayenne, and red pepper flake (on steaks, why? . Friendly staff, clean dining area. Music was a little loud.
