We stayed in a room above the general store. It is newly refurbed and is very comfortable with a superb bathroom. My only criticism is that the bed needs a head board as the pillows push back into the window as there is no wall directly behind the bed (rm 201). The waterfall is amazing and as the place redevelops it will only get better. We were disappointed that a few things were not open and if you are going to advertise the canyon trail and belvedere at least have a sign saying that the lookout is shut. As a non French speaking tourist we were also surprised at the lack of information available in other languages especially as it wants tourists to visit
My second time and still was astonished but the nature wonders..site history..to find out that at the time this village was more developed than big cities..an people were filling blessed to live and work there
Very impressed with the immersive multimedia. The waterfalls are amazing and the view is astonishing. Bring your food and eat on site.
It was wonderful to feel myself literally go back in time with my visit at the Val-Jalbert Village ! I was a bit cautious of the nun on the church premises because of my colored hair but she didn’t even gave me a second glance ! As I learned about the history of this church, I was so surprised and glad to know that It was a very progressive one indeed ! (With parents treating their children’s with respect and love). For the rest of the giant village; I was blown away by the scenery and the fact that it was so technologically advanced. With running water, Electricity, functional plumbing and toilets … all thanks to that gigantic waterfall right next to the mill that used the current to produce said electricity and paper paste ! A wonderful visit and experience, and one I will gladly do again !
Visited this place with my elderly parents since it was one of the very few things we can do in the area (low mobility). Didn't have big expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a cute little set up, but it's the surprising waterfall view that made it special. There were two viewpoints, one easily accessible by my elderly parents and the other about 700 steps (up and down stairs) which I did with my sister and boyfriend. This second viewpoint was worth it.
