I went to Laika for brunch on Sunday, only realizing after I arrived that I had been there before.
This restaurant is a great option for a relaxed evening with friends on St. Laurent. It's never too crowded, so you can guarantee that you'll get a table.
Our friend invited us for dinner over there but the service is not that good. They forgot to bring us bread until we asked when we got our main dishes. Each dish came out so slow and we have to asked them to be a bit faster few times. The most unprofessional issue was they gave us the bill right away after telling them we didn't want desert but my hubby was still eating his main dish!!!
We came here today for a delayed Father's Day lunch. My sister chose it for the view on the water and because she remembered that the tuna tataki was quite delicious. We sat outside on the terrace under the covered section as the weather was warm but overcast. There is a lower section that you can sit at in the sunshine, or under a parasol. We ordered the tomato tartine, the tuna tataki, of course served with wakami and salicorne, some burgers and some fish and chips. The staff were friendly and very attentive. As mentioned in another review the cod was a bit small , but very tender, and flaky and the burgers were delicious. We passed on the desserts, but they also appeared quite tasty . All in all, this was a perfectly satisfying lunch, in a beautiful setting by the water.
