Bistrot du Palais - Chambéry

I had an excellent lunch in Bistrot du Palais over a year ago and decided to give it another try last week as I was in the city in the store. Although the service remained indispensable, food was not exciting. The steactars... planted as if they had been prepared the day before, the French fries were soggy and burned. The Gratin de fruits, which happened as Dessert du Jour, was tasteless and tepid and probably just came from the micowave oven. The Ristretto deserves high brands! Although I'm trying to find out it wouldn't be surprising in the place had changed hands last year, for the worse. So sad and regrettable. What should have been a pleasant experience turned out to be pathetic. Pierre C

They had run out of plat du jour so I had steak tartare and my companion had a chicken leg. The tartare had a lot of gherkin and dressing in it, which was probably to disguise the fact it was on the turn. I'll spare...you the detail, but I had to spend the next day no more than 5 paces from my bathroom. Fortunately, my companion was OK.

Went there on a great sunshiny day, ate inside. One can eat outside on a huge terrace located in the middle of a pedestrian square surrounded by beautiful 19th century buildings. The raw steak tartar was good, and staff friendly despite of the rush hour....Price was reasonable, the restaurant itself clean with well maintained furniture and clean cutlery. I'll go there again.

A great time. a rather short card that makes us presume homemade dishes;An excellent guacamole burger, potato chevre. very original and excellent. homemade desserts, a gourmet coffee very ... gourmet. Everything was done at home. we ate for about 22 euros including wine and coffee. It was too great. We're restaurateurs, and a long time ago we didn't eat as well. Even the coffee was good.The very professional service, and despite the bad weather we were able to lunch under a pleasant terrace. The place is beautiful. Last point, the wc are very clean, there is music and they smell very good.Everything was perfect.

Copious salads, desserts (dôme) different from what we are accustomed to eating. nice staff. Quick service, nothing to say.
