Ferdinand - Châlons-en-Champagne

Welcoming friendly hostess greeted us and explained the menu at the entrance. A pleasant location in a beautiful square free from cars parked or otherwise. Delish food and well priced View of the grand Hotel de Ville.

Chosen more for the fact that on a windy day they still had umbrellas up for shade than anything else! Told we couldn’t sit at a table that was set and offered one in the sun! Said we will go elsewhere and then offered another table in the shade! Food took forever to arrive, other table’s ordered after us and were finished before we got ours! Husband had the plat de jour of filet minion, he said the sauce was good! My vegetarian salad had a load of cooked vegetables resembling ratatouille on top, heavy dressing rendering the little lettuce there was soggy and generally a mush. I left most of it.

Very friendly.staff. Reasonable menu . Pizzas and burgers with a selection of salads and meat . Had the beouf burgonione very tasty . Could have done with a spoon at the end . Good selection of wines as well

A planned visit to the town…we stopped in for food drinks…the restaurant waitress was ignorant and passive, the manager was very rude in his demeanour and the way he spoke to another waitress (thinking we couldn’t understand french) in front of us. I tried to make an effort speaking french (I don’t speak French but try to learn and make an effort) which they wouldn’t acknowledge. What they didn’t realise was my partner speaks fluent french and understood everything. Overall experience was very uncomfortable. The salad was nice… This review is to hopefully help them improve for other peoples experience in their restaurant in the future.

Lovely food and service. Pleasant ambiance set in town square near cathedral. Great for people watching.
