However, we were disappointed with our experience overall. The prices were exorbitant and the food was mediocre at best. We tried the Tessie Tea which included scones, soup, and salad that were all decent. Unfortunately, the sandwiches and desserts were lacking. Two out of the five sandwiches were unappetizing, and the desserts were lackluster. The bill came out to $70 for the two of us, which felt like a rip-off. To make matters worse, we were asked to leave early to make space for the next seating, which was not for another two hours. Additionally, my friend purchased a bag of lemon tea but received a different flavor when she brewed it at home. Overall, I will not be recommending this restaurant to others.
My family visited the Talking Tea Cup on Easter Sunday to celebrate my mother's birthday as a surprise for her, and we were completely impressed! My sister and I had not been to the teahouse in many years, but the food was delicious, the service was exceptional, and we had a wonderful time together. We will definitely be returning!
Patti Fitzpatrick, the new owner, is a delight just like the food we were served. It's great that the restaurant is open again. She has made some updates to the place and it is now cozy and welcoming. Patti is very accommodating, asking about food allergies and quickly replacing a sandwich for a member of our party who wasn't interested in that particular dish. We enjoyed the variety of teas offered and will definitely return. The restaurant has two seating times, at 11am and 2pm, allowing guests to fully savor the experience. I'm so happy it's open again - a true gem, don't miss out on trying it.
I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed in my recent visit. It was a party of four. We all had the luncheon tea. First, we got our tea...a little later scone which was good. A long wait and our sandwiches arrived which had a very skimpy filling and were just ok...by this time our tea was cold before the sandwiches arrived. Our variety of sweets was a single mini waffle with cream and preserves. It was good but I no longer had any tea to drink with my dessert. I have never had tea served like this. It is usually in a triple layer tea plate with sandwiches, scone and sweets all served at once. I was disappointed and for the price will not be coming back. I so wanted to like this place. Atomosphere was nice.
Truly had an incredible time here! The tea was phenomenal, the brunch was out of this world, and the service was great! Can’t wait to come back!!
