This elegant tavern in beautiful Chadds Ford, PA offers a beautiful selection of culinary delights from seafood to hand-held sandwiches. There is a nice sit-down bar that offers cocktails, beer and wine. The service is excellent. Our hostess sat immediately and our server, Leo, went beyond and beyond to make our lunch experience comfortable and welcoming. For lunch I stared with a red Sangria that was sweet and fruity. For lunch I had one of the taverns classic meals, Jumbo Lump Crab cake. The Crab Cakes were solid, damp and full of crabs. It was composed with a sweet, rich and creamy corn risotto and garlic spinach. It was amazing! The atmosphere was relaxing, playing with light rock music in the background and playing sports on TV above the bar. There was also a separate seating area for the bar perfect for families and large groups. A great place to have a wonderful meal when you visit Chads Ford PA.
The food was INCREDIBLE. Very inconceivable from outside, go into a picturesque, we are appointed bar and dining room. Everything from appetizers to cocktails was excellent. Will definitely return.
Reservations required and table for group was prepared when we arrived. Server was very good. The menu offered several gluten-free choices that we appreciate and why we decided to come. Filet mignon was hard to chew. Mashed potatoes might come cold because we had a group and they wanted all the items to come together. There was not even a walnut on the harvest salad, as described in the menu and depicted on the website. The saltiness of the Vinaiigrette dressing on salad, porcelain topping and sauces for diving was extreme, which made the salad particularly almost unusable. Maybe it was a mistake in preparing the recipe today. Overall, the food was average and rather disappointing. No table visit from the manager as you might expect from a restaurant of this price class. It was extremely dark and illuminated at noon, beautiful ambience, but difficult to see for some party. From all places where we are? eat these that are not unforgettable, or revise one. There are better places to eat in the area.
We opted for a simple meal, salad and burgers and fries. Oh yea, bacon shrimp as an appetizer. One more thing...being near the mushroom capital of the world...Kennett Square...I had to try the mushroom soup. Only one catch, I had finished my burger and it hadn 't come out of the kitchen. When our server...nice guy albeit a little too confident...questioned if the soup ever arrived, I said how did you know that I wanted it for dessert Canceled the soup so I 'll never know if it rivals Buckleys In Delaware. Place was backed on a Tuesday, very loud with what appeared to be college kids home from school. Doubt we 'll go back unless in a pinch. Final words...food was decent. Pics of our burgers
Nice place. One of the few places that are open too late on Sunday. Food was good?, but service was excellent! Betsy really took care of us and great conversation!
