Osteria Del Borgo Marina - CERVIA

Absolutely terrible rush hour at around 8 pm. Waiters are running around, not paying any attention. At first, the waiter brought the wrong picca due to him being in a rush and misunderstanding the name of the dish (even though we poimted at the menu with finger), then we waited for a long time to remove the dirty dishes and bring the second courses. Brought no salt, no olive oil, no parmezan, as compared to the local people eating dinner. Waited for a bill for at least 20 minutes, offered no desert, no coffee, brought no limoncello, as compared to “local” tables. Place not for tourists, at least not in the dinner hours.

We remembered this restaurant from when we were in Cervia last year and returned on a couple of occasions this year. On the whole, for us we found the food to be totally adequate and above average as was the pricing...However, nothing was too much trouble in the way they looked after our young grandchildren, with some extra little treats. We will return to this restaurant when next in Cervia

Be careful if you don't speak Italian, as they take great delight in charging you for water, and giving you extra wine even when you don't ask for it. When you point this out they suddenly don't understand and just ignore you. Very clever really as if they did this to everyone 5 euros extra on each bill will soon add up. Also the food was awful and pricey for what you got. This was the only restaurant that we were ripped off in, the rest were lovely.

Pensavo fosse un tipico locale acchiappa turisti del tipo ristorante pizzeria specialità pesce e se volete anche aperitivo E invece abbiamo mangiato una buona pizza, chi ha optato per il pesce non ha avuto nulla da ridire e chi ha pagato è rimasto stupito del conto più che onesto

We visit this large, buzzy and busy restaurant at least a couple of times when we take our annual holiday to Cervia. Our visits this year were even better. The food on both occasions was terrific (prawn pasta cocktail) and the their service was superb especially once again with the young grandchildren and we love the little extra touches with desert. Looking forward to a couple of visits next year already.
