Abbaee Soondae - Centreville

It's 2 PM and they've already run out of chapsal soondae. I requested a refund for my order, but they want me to come to the restaurant to process it. I previously ordered naengmyun and only received a cup of yuksu. I explained to UberEats that it felt like ordering spaghetti and not getting enough sauce, but they didn't seem to understand. I was told to speak with the restaurant instead. The gopjang soup had a gritty texture, and the budae jigae was bland. This place used to be good, but it seems like they've changed cooks.

This is an incredible restaurant to dine at. I highly recommend it! The food is absolutely delicious.

I traveled from Pennsylvania to this restaurant over the weekend and had the best Sundae Sundae soup I've ever tasted in the U.S. I never thought I'd find quality Sundae outside of South Korea, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Sundae here is incredibly authentic and of high quality, just like back in Korea. The service was excellent, and the prices for all menu items are quite reasonable! The three-hour drive to this restaurant was definitely worth it, and I would absolutely return in the future!

Be aware that there is a mandatory minimum tip of 18%, regardless of the size of your group or the quality of service. They check the tip amount immediately and will embarrass you in front of other diners if you don’t meet the minimum requirement, effectively forcing you to circle the 18% tip right there. The soondae soup didn’t have the depth of flavor you would expect from places that specialize in it; the soondae itself was sour and disappointing. I really wish I had read the previous reviews before my visit.

This is one of the most authentic Korean restaurants in the area. While their Soondae is delicious, the Tonkatsu is even better. They might as well rename the place to "Abbaee Tonkatsu." The rest of the menu is excellent as well!
