Pastaio Pasta Carnaby

We stopped at Pastaio for a quick lunch, and after waiting 10 minutes for a table, we were seated. The food was nice as was the waitress but the portions are quite small. We paid £13 for each pasta dish but weren’t left feeling very full afterwards. The flavour itself is nice but nothing amazing overall a decent lunch.

Lovely relaxed restaurant setting. Perfect for a quick catch up meal with a friend. We shared 3 pasta dishes between 2 of us which was the perfect amount. We went for the kale pesto with burrata, Cacio E Pepe and sausage ragu (which was my personal favourite). All were delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely come here again.

Went here for a quick bite before a show. I had the lobster pasta at £21. It was creamy and had a nice tomato base but did lack flavour. At best it was worth £15. No reservation was needed, and the service was very speedy. The wine options were all from wine on tap, which does reduce the quality of course. I would rate a 3.5, as the rest of the dishes seemed to be better value for money.

We stumbled across Pastaio by chance at around 9pm one evening, when many restaurants nearby were closing. We were very hungry, and pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, warm and friendly service, and reasonable prices. The rosemary foccacia was delicious and the wild garlic pesto was a stand out.

Now, onto the food—absolutely amazing! Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned. We shared some antipasti, including Focaccia, squash caponata, Burrata, and chickpeas with octopus. For mains, we had the slow-roasted tomato pasta, clam linguine, and a whole lobster linguine meant for two. We also indulged in dessert and enjoyed a generous amount of wine. To top it all off, while we were chatting after the meal, they unexpectedly treated us to limoncello shots. Thank you, Pastaio! I will definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back!
