Our server, Beverly H, was attentive without being overwhelming. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and had good gluten-free options. We appreciated the hard work of all the staff who maintained a smile throughout. Thank you for a great dining experience.
This was our first visit to Hucks at Center Parcs and we found ourselves in a very captive audience. We had pre-booked and paid deposits, with the staff being friendly enough. However, we felt that Hucks could improve its theming to enhance the Western feel. The long tables also gave off a school dinner vibe. Prices were as expected, but not necessarily good value for money. As a party of six, we sat in a booth and were surprised to find a bottle of beer costing nearly £6. We started with two large nacho platters which set us back nearly £27. Our meals arrived, except for mine, which was clearly missed off the order. It eventually arrived, but my ordered beef burger was actually chicken. When I tried to inform the server, he walked off. My correct burger arrived another 10 minutes later, by which time others had nearly finished their meals. Overall, we were not impressed with the experience at Hucks and may not return in the future. It felt like we were just another guest passing through the doors of Center Parcs.
The staff were slow to seat us at our table, even though it was not busy and we had a reservation. Three girls were too busy chatting instead of attending to us. However, the ribs we ordered were delicious. Unfortunately, the dip for the hasselback potatoes was forgotten and we had to ask for it. The overall food was good, but our dining experience was negatively affected by 5 or 6 children running around and being loud. One of the children even kicked the back of my friend's seat. Although we had purposely chosen a booth away from the play area, both groups of parents also chose to sit there, leading to chaos. The constant noise and disturbance made it difficult for us to relax and enjoy our meal. Staff seemed to be avoiding the children with their trays of food and drinks, and disappointingly, no one addressed the issue. We decided to skip dessert and leave early, which was a shame as we had never encountered this kind of disruption during our previous visits over the years.
Appalling value for money for a captive audience you’d think they would concentrate on giving value for money to encourage repeat visits. The sizzling fajita stack comprised meat equivalent to less than one chicken breast and the burger and fries, another party member had, was cold. The place had about 6 groups/tables occupied at peak evening meal time, rough guess a lot less than 25% occupancy, which is probably explained by the quality on offer. The only thing saving it from 1 star was the staff who were friendly and helpful. They deserved the enforced 7.5% service charge, the food certainly didn’t. After not visiting Centre Parcs since COVID, but being a regular visitor before then, the decline in quality snd increase in prices is shocking compared to other places.
Always have a meal out at Hucks dinner when at Centre parcs. This was my first time at the Woburn one and did leave a little disappointed. The chicken fajitas was a little dry and not how I've had it before. The staff were friendly but we had a few mistakes.
