The place was crowded with locals and tourists. On my previous visit the dim sum carts would come to the table and we chose. But this time it seemed everyone ran to dim sum carts instead and tried to pick, before other customers, of what you want. Sui Mai and Ha Gao never showed up and just came when we finished our dessert. One hour missing! Anyway, it's still one of the best dim sum in Hong Kong!
Waited two hours to get in! Can I say it was worth it? Unsure. But the food was pretty nice, and the ballroom/ chandeliers makes for a unique dining experience. Food was pretty solid, but be prepared to hustle your way to get food from the carts.
Arrived at about 9pm for dinner, there wasn’t a lot of people left so service was prompt and the food arrived real fast. Food was good, the roast meats were very flavorful and the mango mayo prawns were interesting and delicious as well. Would definitely visit again to try out the dimsum. One thing to point out is that it wasn’t easy to find the restaurant. It’s located on top of a theatre and the entrance to the building isn’t easy to find. Perhaps more signs could be put up.
Long wait, but worth it. Staff nice and friendly, dining room area large, and they kept the line moving. This is one of the few places where staff push carts around with the various dishes. The food remains outstanding! Taste is not compromised. This is also the first restaurant I was.brought to when I first started coming to Hong Kong.
For classic dim sum with trolleys and a view of the harbour, this restaurant is perfect. The food is diverse- a few familiar items but lots of new creations. There are huge chandeliers which make the massive dining hall feel very grand. The wait to get in is painful and often one hour. A machine spits out a ticket and the numbers are read out in Cantonese. Some of the waiters are aggressive which is a shame, but they have robot waiters picking up plates which is entertaining. The locals dress up to go which adds to the colour and theatre of the place. And it’s pricey.
