However, the presentation bothered me—serving a small bowl of soup on a large plate seemed like an attempt to appear upscale that ultimately missed the mark. Given the already elegant atmosphere of the restaurant, this presentation felt unnecessary. The agedashi tofu had its highs and lows. It was perfectly fried, but by the time it reached the table, the broth had softened the outer layer. On the positive side, the fish broth with bonito flakes was very flavorful, and the texture of the tofu was appealing. The standout dishes of the evening were the Fire Salmon and Pork Tonkatsu. The Fire Salmon is a creative offering, featuring long strips of salmon sashimi placed over a flame that toasts coffee beans while lightly cooking the marinated fish. The raspberry sauce truly elevates the dish's flavors. It was visually stunning and delightful to eat. The Pork Tonkatsu was also quite good. While it was more traditional for a Japanese restaurant, the pork cutlets were tender, and the crispy fried coating was just right. For dessert, we tried the green tea tiramisu and yuzu sorbet balls. The green tea tiramisu was intriguing, with both good and bad elements. The green tea cake layered with cream lacked a robust green tea flavor and was overly soaked in alcohol, which was somewhat off-putting. However, dipping it into the green tea broth beneath made it much more enjoyable, so I recommend doing that if you order it! The yuzu balls were similarly mixed; while they served as a refreshing palate cleanser, the coating left an unpleasant oily sensation in the mouth. This coating likely keeps the sorbet inside from spilling out, but it detracted from the overall experience. The sorbet itself, however, was delicious—light and fresh, perfectly balancing the richer flavors from the meal. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. This restaurant is certainly above average when it comes to sushi, offering a modern and creative twist. All ingredients appeared fresh and well-handled, so kudos to the chef for their attention to quality.
This is an amazing sushi restaurant! I didn’t know what to expect, but the flavors were incredible and fresh. We sat near the entrance, so we didn’t get a good view of all the decor, but the whole place looked great. I really loved everything I ordered—absolutely no complaints!
I was so excited to find this restaurant! The fish was incredibly fresh and tasty, and they offer options for gluten-free diets. I had the avocado salad with sashimi, which was amazing, along with some sushi and sashimi. The spicy toro was delightful, but the seared Kobe beef sushi was even better, and the foie gras piece was simply divine! They also surprised me with a complimentary dessert, which was such a nice touch. I tried the green tea crème brûlée and green tea ice cream, and even though I thought I was too full to enjoy dessert, it was so delicious that I ended up finishing almost all of it. If you're in the area, this place is a must-try. The sushi is top-notch, and I won't need to go to Uchi or Uchiko when I'm in town again because this restaurant has fantastic food too!
