Papposileno - CAVRIGLIA

We had dinner at Papposileno last night and it was magnificent! The food, wine, ambience and service were outstanding. There were six of us, many of whom had the sea bass and thought it was the best they had ever had! The fresh fish was paired with creamy potato and crispy artichoke that melded together perfectly. The risotto with mussels was deliciously creamy and the mussels were so fresh and tender. Sylvana (I hope I’m spelling that correctly) was our server. She was so helpful walking us through the menu choices and recommending excellent wines that were really reasonably priced as well. She was incredibly professional and knowledgeable but friendly and welcoming at the same time. And the bread!!!!! Warm and soft in the middle but crispy on the outside. Yum! Sylvana could see how much we loved it and brought us our fill. Of course, we had to have dessert! We had puff pastry filled with Italian cream and delicious coffee.

Bad experiense. We had a large group and some ordered mains and starters and some only mains. The dishes were mainly seafood, and therefore I picked (I think) the only non seafood main dish (so also not very vegan/vegetarian friendly). The deer dish was tasteless and alltogether a dissapointment Not much flavor and also the main Thing was, the deer was uncuttable with cutlery and sofore not eatable. The waitress was not making sure wether the dishes were pleasant and we outspoke the situation to her when se came to clean the table. She didn't say sorry, she asked if I wanted another portion of the deer and I said that I'll stick with the red wine. She also said that I should have known the situation with The deer beforhand, and we we're just stunned. I swear, you could just saw and saw the meat and it did not cut. Se said she doesn't understand and left. It was time for the second dishes for those who ordered one, and one of us wasn't served with the deer they ordered, since I was asked wether they should serve the second portion of deer and I said that I dont want any more deer. They did not speak to the person who was still waiting for their deer so we all thought she was asking if In want an new portion. There was so much miscommunication and of course everyone can make mistakes, but the dish was terrible and the waitress was the rudest customer servicer I have met in my life. Never saying sorry or giving any discount etc for unpleasant stay, and even saying we should just go somewhere else. (The deer case was only part of the unpleasant stay)

We were a party of 12. Uncooked, unseasoned food. The food was sasoned only with unprofessional customer service. Expensive food thst left us hungry. Would prefer a supermarket over this. Waitress was very unwelcoming with zero smiles.

Beautiful place with great food, excellent wine and attentive and helpful staff. would definitely go back.

Bella posizione nel cuore della Toscana. si può vedere bene dai piatti che lo chef/proprietaria ada ama il suo lavoro. tutto veramente bene personalmente vorrei alcune porzioni più generose in tutti i corsi eccellenti. i ragazzi in camera molto bello, gentile e preparato. il gusto dell'uomo milanese è uno spettacolo!
