Golden Krust Caribbean - Catonsville

The food is awesome! But the two ladies never smile. They make me feel as though they have something better to do. Then get food for us. If it wasn't for the food I would never come back here. So if you come here just get your food and go. You feel depressed when you leave.

Occasionally, I get a craving for oxtails, and not everyone does them right. So when my foodie friend hyped up this place in Catonsville, I was like “Uh huh. Let’s see.” He can be hit or miss with his go-to spots, but Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant in Catonsville (I can’t speak for any other locations) is definitely a HIT! The oxtails were so tender they fell off the bone, the rice and beans had the perfect consistency and flavor, the cabbage/vegetables were perfectly seasoned and the plantains (which I questioned at first if they were burnt) were also cooked to perfection. The best part was that gravy. I tried another Jamaican restaurant recently, where the gravy tasted like it was out of a packet. Not the case here. It was so rich and yummy. My niece, who never had Jamaican cuisine, even gushed about how good everything was. Also, the service was excellent and they weren’t stingy with the portions! So if you’re ever in the Catonsville/Randallstown area and have a craving for authentic oxtail, make your way here.

It seems everytime I go to this resturant, the oxtail dinner increases. Granted, it's really good, but why are they flat and really little? The bones are too SHARP!! The cashier wasnt pleasant enough. She snatched my card and put it on the counter. Instead of in my hand. Just thought I'd share my experience, because that was my last visit there.

I’ve been coming to this place for years and this was my first experience ever with bad food. I ordered the chef special (red snapper) and they only give you like pieces of fish with a whole bunch of pickled veggies. Also the rice and peas with the cabbage was not good at all. Must be a different chef. Customer service is always great, this is my 3 stars

This ain’t it. I asked for roti skin instead of rice. Was told no. The rice was COLD and not soft at all. The curry was hot. When I tell you my stomach was messed up immediately afterwards means one of three things- the food was not being kept to temp, the food was expired upon preparing and/or the curry was not cooked down before adding the meat. Disgusting. I would have made it myself if I had the time. I’m and so I KNOW what this was SUPPOSED to be. The Golden Crusts in NJ/NY are NOT like this.
